Hi Penei,
We miss you and all the wonderful people and
places so much! Sometimes I'll turn to Joe and say, I miss our friends... and
he says, I do, too, and we both know we're thinking about the Big Island and
Pu'uhonua o Honaunau.
We hope the earthquake did not bring too much
chaos or heartache to you and others. It sounds like the damage was
surprisingly minimal, given the size of the quake.
I've attached a few of Michael's wonderful
photos. Sorry it took a while to get them to you.
Our wedding was wonderful. You made us feel so
special, and listened with such care to our requests. We felt that you
brought in a great spiritual presence to be with us, and that you were the
perfect witness to mirror our love for eachother back to us. A big mahalo,
too, to Michael. Not only were his photos amazing, he was a wonderful, loving
presence, too.
After the ceremony, we drove around the whole
island! We flew Joe's rocket in a big open field off the road to Waimea,
threw our leis into a stream in Akaka Falls state park, and visited the Hawaii
Botanical Gardens outside Hilo.
Next time you bbq at Place of Refuge, think of
us when you light the fire!
